Description

The iZapa Game and Bush Lodge is nestled in the Bobbejaansberg mountains just an hour's drive from Johannesburg. The area is Malaria-free, but that doesn't mean it's not wild.

Giraffe, antelope and baboon roam free and frequently forage between the Chalets. You may even spot an elusive leopard high in the hills overlooking the camp. At night the jackals sing you to sleep.

Above all, iZapa is quiet. Whether you're lounging on a deck chair in the river sand at the swimming pool, taking a stroll through the bush or relaxing in your Chalet, the only sounds you're likely to hear are those of the more than two-hundred and fifty bird species found here.

 Accommodation

Six very private chalets, each sleeping 2 people in comfort. All exquisitely decorated and featuring luxurious bathrooms with outside showers. So however you fill your day it begins and ends in indulgence.

Wining and Dining

Delicious food, elegantly presented, is an essential part of the Izapa experience. Every meal is unexpectedly original. From signature omelettes, to design-your-own salads or picnics for lunch and superb dinners. Your taste for fine food is always indulged, and complemented by an extensive selection of great wines.

The Bushveld Boardroom

This perfectly appointed and air-conditioned boardroom seats 12 and would be at home in any multinational office. Offering all the necessary audio-visual and data facilities as well as ergonomically designed chairs, a meeting at Izapa takes the work out of the business.

Enjoy South Africa’s legendary sunshine relaxing on the bushveld “beach” or get moving, as always the choice is yours. Izapa offers game drives, fishing, scenic walks and even mountain biking, so you can make the most of bushveld experience.

Alternatively you can head off for a game of golf at the Cullinan Golf Course, try your luck at the Carousel Casino or pamper yourself at a nearby spa.

 GOURMET WEEKENDS

Background:

The gourmet weekend is an opportunity for couples or groups to escape from the bustling city life for a weekend, and at the same time enjoy a unique experience cooking and baking in the bush. This is ideal for a teambuilding weekend or just for the curious person wanting to learn something new.

Course details:

The course will be presented by a professional chef who specializes in his /her own field. The main theme of the course will be the preparation of venison and game dishes in a bush (open-fire) kitchen, although various other courses such as Mediterranean, Eastern or African will be made available if requested.

As iZapa is a more intimate venue we will be able to cater for a maximum of 12 guests per course.

Package details:

The full package includes the following: Accommodation Friday and Saturday, all meals (excl. drinks), full day cooking course on Saturday, wine or whiskey tasting Friday night, course material, use of all facilities at the lodge including game drives and nature walks. Total Cost R 1900.00 per person including VAT.

As a further attraction for group bookings an astronomy evening can be incorporated into the weekend activities.
